“Bearing North North East”

This is a Studio shot of a compass my Father carried with him in WWII during the defense of Estonia against the invading Russians. It lead him to safety through the horrific times and eventually to Canada where I was born…hence my monicker “Estonian Made In Canada”

This is a very nice example of a standard military march compass of the sort carried by Officers, Senior NCOs and Engineers during World War II.

It is about 2 inches wide x 2-3/4 inches long and the lid opens to reveal a bright reflective surface and the rotatable dial of the compass.

Next stop, Canada
