The V8

There were many V8 Engines at this Vintage Auto Show in Lido, California, but this one was special in a silver chassis with a V-Shaped grill. Look for the photographer in the reflections.

A V engine, or Vee engine is a common  configuration for an internal combustion engine. The  cylinders and  pistons are aligned, in two separate planes or ‘banks’, so that they appear to be in a “V” when viewed along the axis of the crankshaft. The Vee configuration generally reduces the overall engine length, height and weight compared to an equivalent  inline configuration.

  1. I am LOVIN’ this series somethin’ fierce Erik! Wonderful photo post today. My personal favorite engine is and always will be the iconic Chevrolet 350 small block. We’ve had one of those in countless hot rods I’ve owned, and even our current beloved Corvette roadster is packin’ one of those babies. Great capture here Erik, you’ve brought life to the heart and soul of the hot rod!!!
